There is only a very short approach on trail for this hike.
After an attempt on Redoubt Mountain the day before, I was going to sleep in this day and not hike. I'd mostly made up my mind to. But when I was wide awake at 10am, and the animals wouldn't stop wandering around the bedroom making obnoxious noises, I started thinking of really short objectives I could do. I settled on Little Arethusa because I remembered it didn't take more than 4 hours and soon I was up and off. Despite the late start, I had a really great time on this little hike. Great views, nice little ridge section to add interest, and the approach was short. The short section I hiked up along the cirque trail was very nice as well. All those larch needles making a golden carpet on the ground. Nice day out, glad the animals wouldn't let me sleep this time.....
