A very blurry photo of the beautiful sunrise as we started walking.

I've wanted to do Mount Howard in shoulder season since I first started scrambling. I tried in the spring of the floods but was turned around by thunderstorms. Since its been back open weather (wind) etc has stopped me. I did not want to fail again and have completed the approach again for nothing. But finally with fresh conditions reports and good (enough) weather I did it this weekend! Its not the most interesting scramble, as you really don't scramble on it. Its more of a hike. The approach is long and although the creek bed is generally easy to walk on (to the ascent route at least), its still somewhat tedious. I really liked the ridge walk though and the views from the summit.
