Going back across the traverse. The step down the snow lip was a bit awkward. But it didn't scare me. I've done much worse. We didn't have our ice axes. And they wouldn't have done much good in the slushy snow anyway. Better to just dig in your bare hands etc, and hope the slush itself stops you. Much like it does when you try to glissade too late in the day.
On the way up there were one or two places here I dug down in the snow with my hands, to make sure the next step was scree and not slab. I really didn't want to slip off that traverse.
