After dropping out of a trip to the Bow Hut to summit another peak on the Wapta due to the high avalanche danger, I was completely lacking in motivation. I had a better idea for Saturday but couldn't bring myself to start the long drive to attempt it. I ended up doing a very short hike instead.
Deer Ridge is a small treed hill just to the west of Sibbald Lake campground. It has a wide official trail all the way to the "summit", which is odd for the area. It is also more popular than some of the other hills, as I saw two people on the trail, and it was rather icy from previous use.
