I had really wanted to go up the scrambling route in this gully. More for Heath even than for me. Heath really loves the scrambling part of these trips, not so much the rest. Nugara said this route is one of his favorites in the park. However the snow goes across most of the gully at one point, and seems to block the easiest exit. It was a gamble to go up, and I don't like gambling.
