The butte from where we parked. Matt called for permission on Friday and got it from the land leaser as per the recreation access page. The land leaser warned him about the creek we would have to cross to reach the butte. So we were prepared with our hip waders.

This is the same view of the butte you get from highway 22. It doesn't look like much from there, but I knew from Dave Salahub that it contained interesting hoodoos. So it had been on my list for some time. Not like on my good list of summer activities. But my oh its shoulder season and what to do list.
