Camp at the trail head the night before. The Summit Trail Markers have kept the road, trail head, and trails in excellent condition as always.
This was my pre-Limestone Lakes hike. Picked to be a quick easy summit with minimal elevation gain. The book (Hikes Around Invermere; which you should always take with a grain of salt because its out of date among other things), said the couloir provided easy access to the upper plateau. Easy for who? The gully was shit. But I made it, so whatever.
