With the weather looking bad on the weekend, I traded a lovely Thursday for a rainy Saturday. Caldron Peak / Lake has been on my list for too many years to even count. The hazards, including: the river crossing after the bridge went out, and the steep side hill traverse from the top of the moraine to the lake, have always kept me away. On this day we decided to just go give it a try. Several recent reports had been posted. Indicating that the river could be crossed even in the afternoon currently. So there was no better time.
