Farther south, as we debated the weather and rationality of scrambling difficult terrain when wet, we saw this cute baby bear by accident.

Summited West Baldy via the regular Kane route NOT the west ridge route.

When I went over Baldy and did South Baldy ages ago, I never got the West peak.

Today had a very high chance of thunderstorms so we'd always planned on something short. Tried to drive farther south to do Plan A, but when it was far cloudier and rainier around the Wedge bend we decided on Plan.... B? I think this might have been farther down the list actually but whatever. Nice to have it done, and always great to get out.
