Starting up after a rather thick bushwack. Plants up to your armpits and no way to see the ground. We eventually found the slopes to the ridge which were mainly clear of trees and underbrush.
This was my last "front" country Castle Wilderness Peak, and I'm happy to have finally ticked it off. After years of putting it off, wondering if I should do the entire traverse or not.
We just hiked the official summit, the first one. Which is of course lower than the other two. However I've heard and seen bad things about the scramble loop around to those two, so I will save them for another day and a different approach.
