Typical for the Highwood area the approach to Loomis Lake is garbage hike along a logging road to a headwall that led up to the lake (in other places col). The headwall is very easy here, so there was horse crap the whole way up. The road was viewless and either boring, or annoying with mud bogs and creek crossings. Lake was lovely. Camping up there was lovely.
