The cold crossing has always dissuaded me against trying this peak. Matt recently found some $20 hip waders on amazon though. It was too good a deal not to also buy a pair. Thus equipped we started out on this trip. I was sure something would be wrong, most likely that the grip on the bottom wouldn't be good enough. However they worked perfectly. We were dry and warm. Better yet, it was much faster than taking off shoes, socks, and rolling up our pants etc. then reversing all that on the other side.
