Starting out along the Bull Pasture Trail towards Mount Ajo (visible in the distance).

This was hike eight of eight of my third southern road trip. This time I went to Arizona. This hike near the Mexican border in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument.

This peak is very close to the Mexican border, and like Sonny Bou we passed through 2 checkpoints on our way to the peak via the AZ-86 and AZ-85. Then again 2 checkpoints (1 was the same) on the way back on the AZ-85.

The first one on the way back (they only stop you in the direction heading away from Mexico), they asked where we had been and were satisfied with the name of the mountain and the monument. The second one all we needed to say was we were Canadian.
