The trail below treeline is unrelentingly steep. Which is actually nice in a way, because then it isn't that long. I only have the one photo, but you'll see a lot of this or similar for the first few hours of the hike.

This weekend it had snowed lightly on the mountains further north, more than those in the south. So due to that and other reasons, Becky and I decided to do a little road trip and head out to the Cranbrook area to hike these two mountains. Then ascent Mount Procter in Fernie the next day, a bit closer to home. It was a really nice weekend of hiking, summits, and cheap camping.
