Looking up at the rest of the ascent from the beginning of the trail.

I do know that this is prime bear territory and there is a sign asking that you please consider not going into this area. Many people still do, several on this day. We did not see any recent bear sign or we would have turned around. I know there is an argument to be made we shouldn't have gone at all, but we did. The area was not officially closed on this day, and I really wanted to ascend this peak. Sorry bears.
